01 / The Story
One family. A connected story.
Told through the family’s account, original photographs and documented retail chapters.
In 1975, Morris Hanono and his daughter Rachel founded Antelope on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv. Menswear and a personal approach to clients formed the beginning of the family’s retail story.
Rachel and Chaim Silberberg later founded de Racelli as a sister company of Antelope. It brought the family’s approach to women’s fashion, eveningwear and boutique retail.
Antwerp: a private-client concept
Before Panama, the story moved to Antwerp. At a single luxury apartment concept store at Rubenslei 33, opposite Stadspark, Rachel brought fashion, eveningwear and jewelry together for a private-client, total-look experience.
Fashion and the diamond business
Alongside the apartment store, Chaim worked with polished diamonds and Moshe with rough diamonds from an office on Hoveniersstraat. Moshe regularly traveled between Kinshasa and Antwerp to source rough diamonds, some for cutting and others for trade.
Panama: de Racelli becomes RIJOUX
The family recalls the 2008 global financial crisis as the turning point that brought its Antwerp and diamond activities to a close. Its next chapter unfolds in Panama from 2008 to 2012, where de Racelli is rebranded as RIJOUX. The multi-brand boutique in Plaza Obarrio includes a La Perla shop-in-shop.
The plans behind the boutique
In 2008, the family explored a proposed Dior boutique. Those negotiations did not result in an opening; the family attributes that outcome to the economic circumstances. The business that followed was the RIJOUX multi-brand concept.
2012: returning to Israel
After some years in Panama, the family returned to Israel in 2012 for family reasons. The first RIJOUX hotel boutique opened at the David InterContinental in Tel Aviv. A children’s boutique followed in the same hotel, and the Hilton boutique came later. The opening date of the children’s boutique has not been established.

The family’s diamond experience
From rough to polished.
Buying and polishing rough diamonds formed part of the family’s diamond business, alongside trading in rough and polished stones.
The Antwerp chapter connected Moshe’s rough-diamond buying with Chaim’s work in polished diamonds.
